Workshop 1: The Art of Self-Editing (September 29th)

The Art of Self-Editing workshop has been designed to introduce the principles of self-editing. We will engage in a series of practical exercises that will sharpen your editorial and proofreading skills. This workshop is for writers, poets, bloggers, journalists, students and other professionals who want to communicate more effectively with their readers. Join us as we learn how to approach work in progress and finished drafts objectively.

Workshop 2: Getting Published, Where To Look. (September 30th)

This workshop explores the ever-changing world of publishing. We aim to improve participants’ understanding of the publishing industry and the self-publishing revolution. We will have discussions with publishing professionals, exploring the traditional and alternative publishing opportunities available to Ghanaian writers.

Nana Nyarko Boateng

These workshops will be led by Nana Nyarko Boateng. Nana is a writer, poet and an editor at Gird Center. She has over a decade of experience editing creative, journalistic and technical writing. She has worked in various positions in media, publishing and the literary arts field. Nana has a BA in English and Political Science from the University of Ghana. Her work has appeared in thirteen publications including Lusaka Punk and Other Stories, Caine Prize for African Writing 2015 and Reflections: An Anthology of New Work by African Women Poets, Lynne Rienner.
